Latest World News Up Date About Nine children died on Wednesday when a commuter train crashed into a minibus taxi at a crossing in Cape Town, South Africa's rail safety authority said.
"The collision occurred at 7:10 am (0510 GMT), when a train collided with a minibus taxi at a level crossing," the Railway Safety Regulator said in a statement.
"Preliminary indications point towards possible negligent vehicle driver behaviour at the crossing point."
The taxi was carrying 13 children to school when it was hit by the train travelling out of Cape Town, with witnesses telling local media that the driver drove around a lowered boom at the crossing.

Latest Pakistan News Up Date About flood affected people:The World Food Programme (WFP) has so far provided 19,000 metric tons of food assistance to about 1.6 million flood-affected people across the country.
A statement issued by the WFP here said that almost 265,000 additional individuals were provided with monthly relief rations during the last two days. As many as 324,000 individuals displaced by the floods in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and FATA have now benefitted from August-cycle distributions under a separate emergency operation, it said.

The foreign ministers of France, Italy and Spain assured to provide assistance to Pakistani nation and government. Oman’s ambassador Syed Mohammad Al Lawati and Jordan’s ambassador Dr. Saleh Al Jawar also met the Foreign Minister. On this occasion, Shah Mehmood Qureshi also thanked the Oman and Jordanian governments for helping Pakistan for flood affectees.
